Festival Internacional de Piano: Orquesta para cuatro manos

Orchestral works on piano for four hands! Enjoy a very attractive programme played by Maurizio Matarrese and Carla Aventaggiato.

The programme aims to highlight the importance which transcription has had and still has in the dissemination of a whole musical repertoire otherwise intended for large instrumental ensembles, or for certain categories of instruments. The programme illustrates that transcribed work offers the performer the opportunity to experiment on his own instrument with the multiple technical and expressive possibilities that were originally conceived for different instruments. The transcriptions that are played in this program are significant works of both orchestral and instrumental repertoire but in the transcription for piano four hands they do not lose their charm and the instrumental character.
